Flowers for a shop or office opening

What to send

A standing flower stand is the norm for a shop opening. Tall, visible from the street, and it makes a new business look well supported on its first day. For an office opening, the same stand works at reception — or a flower box if the lobby is small.

What goes on the ribbon

Your company name. That is the whole purpose — a stand publicly shows who backed the opening. Add a short line: Congratulations on your grand opening, Wishing you prosperity and continued success, or in Chinese, 開業大吉 or 生意興隆.

Colours

Red and gold. Red for luck and prosperity, gold for wealth. Red gerberas, red roses, sunflowers and golden chrysanthemums are the usual choices.

This is the exact opposite of a condolence arrangement, where red must never appear. If you are sending for both occasions in the same week, it is worth checking which is which.

Timing

Send it on the morning of the opening, before guests arrive. Many Malaysian Chinese businesses open at a chosen auspicious hour, so tell us the time and we will deliver ahead of it.

Order by 5 PM Monday to Friday, 1 PM Saturday or 12 PM Sunday for same-day delivery across Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Selangor. For an opening, a day of margin is worth having.
